Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture, also known as SEMCD, is a revolutionary denture technique developed by Dr. Jiro Abe in 1999. For over 20 years, Dr. Jiro Abe spent time researching and developing the SEMCD technique which allows the lower denture to have complete suction. This technique was made to ensure that lower dentures are stabilized to the lower part of the mouth to ensure they do not move around. This technique helps patients refrain from having to use denture adhesive and their muscles to ensure their dentures do not move around.

SEMCD was constructed to sit comfortably within the tissue of the lips, teeth, and tongue. It helps give a precise suction effect to the lower denture and is made to suit each patients individual needs by using specific jaw and face measurements. This is done by capturing a high-quality image of the encompassing oral tissue in the lower oral cavity to get an accurate representation of oral movement.
